For our 30th birthday, we visited the island of Turks & Caicos and instantly were inspired to create a wall hanging by the beautiful, calm, turquoise water there. We rented a villa on the ocean and grabbed our friends for a weekend away. It was one of the most relaxing and peaceful vacations any of us had ever been on. Our villa had the most gorgeous views of the ocean, no neighbors on either side, and we literally walked down the porch steps and our toes hit the turquoise water. Not a person or a boat in sight. It was perfect.
When we got back to reality, we wanted to create a wall hanging that reflected these feelings and memories, Turquoise & Caicos. This one-of-a-kind piece is woven with natural cotton and silk sari. This tapestry had to be extra special so we added a fringe of natural turquoise beads through out the bottom and a cream magnesite elephant to represent tranquility & peace.
Have any of you ever visited Turks & Caicos? What’s your favorite thing about the island?!
